Job Description

In a collaborative environment with multiple stations, the prep chef role has the responsibility of managing our sandwich station, our bagel station, and our morning savory sandwiches/quiche station. This is a role for a person who is great at working independently, efficiently, and cleanly. The environment is fast-paced and very busy, particularly on weekends. The job is ideal for someone who knows how to work through a rush, is good at keeping their stations clean and organized, and ideally has an interest/background in the culinary arts and cooking.

Performance reviews happen after 90 days; 6-month check-ins for potential promotions. We don't have an espresso machine so less specific barista experience is necessary; we're looking for someone who likes talking to customers and is friendly and nice to work with, as well as clean and organized and interested in the kind of food we make.

Responsibilities Include:

• Doing savory sandwich prep on a designated prep day
• Assembling and preparing our daily menu of vegetarian sandwiches
• Slicing tomato pie and focaccias
• Preparing custom bagel orders
• Making morning roll cheddar sandwiches, cutting quiche, helping consolidate pastries and speed racks

Job Requirements:

• Must be able to lift 50 lbs
• Must be comfortable working on your feet for 10-hour days in a high-energy environment
• Ability to ask for help when needed; ability to provide help to others when needed
• Collaborative, communicative, and interested in learning and growing
• Be able to work Wednesdays 7am to 5pm, and Thursdays through Sundays 7:30 to 12:30pm
